David Booker, a level 2 teacher on IIP Cohort G, joined NECC nine years ago. He was nominated by a colleague because “his positive attitude and upbeat demeanor are infectious and the enjoyment he displays when interacting with his peers and the students is a breath of fresh air.”
Emily Marin is an education coordinator for NECC’s Francine Road residence. Marin “is a strong education coordinator and stronger supervisor. She is a great role model for all employees and is very caring towards her students. She excels at making new staff and helpers feel comfortable on shift.”
June Kivi has been with NECC for nearly 30 years, serving in a number of roles, including 15 years in the Consulting and Public School Services Department, where she has worked for over 15 years helping to ensure students with autism reach their full potential.
Clare Mack, assistant director of human resources, has worked in The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Human Resources Department for nine years and in a variety of roles. She was nominated by colleagues because her friendly demeanor and positive attitude are an asset to her department.
Connie Ma has worked as a level 2 teacher for The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Higley Road residence for two years. She was nominated by a colleague because she “goes above and beyond to ensure students are set up for success.”
Paula DeSimone has served as NECC’s front desk receptionist for ten years. She was nominated because she “is always friendly and welcoming, no matter what is going on, and is always willing to help. Paula brings warmth and friendliness to everyone who comes through the doors of NECC.”
Sarah Phelan, education coordinator for NECC’s School Street, joined NECC in 2015. She was nominated by a colleague because she “goes above and beyond to help staff and students excel! She’s always there to answer any questions and is the first one to jump in and help!”
Kaitlyn Shea, MEd, SHRM-CP, has worked at The New England Center for Children (NECC) for 15 years in a variety of positions, including as a teacher in Southborough, an ABA therapist at NECC’s sister school in Abu Dhabi, and currently as the lead recruiting specialist for NECC Southborough.
This summer, NECC welcomed 47 students from colleges and universities across the country to its summer internship program. Meet a few of the interns who spent the last 10 weeks (from June to August) working alongside direct care staff in Southborough.
Bridget Mias is a level 2 teacher, case manager, and core shift manager for NECC’s Ursla Drive residence. Mias was nominated because “she is an amazing teacher who really cares about the boys on Ursla. She is always an amazing, supportive resource to all other staff on the team.”
