Marathon Monday: Meet #TeamNECC Courtney Howe-Cotto

Marathon Monday has always been one of the best days of the year for Shrewsbury native Courtney Howe-Cotto. This year, it will have even more meaning for the now-Boston resident, as she will be running the 127th Boston Marathon as a member of The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) charity team.

Heather Fortin joined NECC as a teacher 30 years ago and currently serves as a professor and practicum coordinator for the Simmons graduate program at NECC. She was nominated by a colleague because “she cares so much about her Simmons practicum students and advocates tirelessly for them.”

Megan King, MSEd, joined The New England Center for Children (NECC) in 2007 as a level 2 teacher and has spent the last six years working as a vocational specialist in NECC’s Vocational Services Department. She was nominated by a colleague because “to Megan, the students always come first!"
