Senior Human Resources (HR) Specialist Linda Donahue, MSEd, joined The New England Center for Children (NECC) as a teacher more than three decades ago. She was nominated by a colleague because she “is a dedicated employee who goes above and beyond.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Becca Reardon
Becca Reardon, a level 2 teacher and back-up core shift manager (CSM) for The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Westborough 2 residence, has worked for NECC for three years. She was nominated by colleagues because she is “a strong teacher and leader on West 2."
NECC Pride Alliance ERG Reflects on Pride Month
"Making space for LGBTQ+ employees is incredibly important. Creating psychological safety by providing a space for people to express concerns, questions, and ideas is the first step in building a more inclusive and supportive work environment," shared Kaya Chokshi-Fox, co-lead of NECC's Pride Alliance ERG.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Heather Fortin, MSEd
Heather Fortin joined NECC as a teacher 30 years ago and currently serves as a professor and practicum coordinator for the Simmons graduate program at NECC. She was nominated by a colleague because “she cares so much about her Simmons practicum students and advocates tirelessly for them.”
Higgins, Heggie Win Myrna Libby Scholar Award
Bridget Higgins and Alexander Heggie have been named the 2023 winners of the Myrna E. Libby Scholar Award. The award, established in 2009, honors one NECC staff enrolled in each of the onsite graduate programs through Simmons and Western New England universities.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Noelle Lofria
Noelle Lofria has worked in NECC’s Partner Program for three years and currently serves as a tutor in Derry, NH. Lofria, who graduated with her master’s degree from Simmons University last month, was nominated by colleagues because “she is a creative and upbeat member of our team.
