Sean Cooke, an APE instructor who has worked at The New England Center for Children (NECC) for 16 years, was nominated for Staff Spotlight because he is “unmatched in his ability to remain calm and poised across situations. He is a true pleasure for students and staff alike.”

TIME magazine recently published a piece about artificial intelligence (AI) and special education, which featured a photo of an NECC student.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Jessica Beaudry
Jessica Beaudry, a tutor in NECC’s Partner Program, was nominated because she “continually works hard to gain so much knowledge. In the classroom, she is dedicated to all the students and is an amazing resource when you need help understanding academic curriculum or behavior plans.”
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Gary Burnell
Gary Burnell, assistant director of Facilities, was nominated for Staff Spotlight by a colleague because “while his work is often behind the scenes, Gary's readiness to assist with projects big and small speaks volumes."
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Bailey Williams
Bailey Williams has worked as a level 2 teacher for The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Intensive Instruction Program (IIP) for a year. She was nominated by a colleague because she has “the most positive attitude. She’s always willing to drop whatever she’s doing and help out.”
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mary Nevins
Mary Nevins has worked as lead teacher in one of NECC's partner classrooms in Barnstable, MA, over the last year. She was nominated because she is “an amazing lead teacher" and "a strong advocate for our students and the staff who work in her room."
