Elizabeth Stikeman has worked in The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Partner Program in Derry, NH, for four years. She was nominated by a colleague because she “brings a positive attitude to each day and is dependable in every aspect of the job. She takes on extra responsibilities in the classroom and is always willing to help. She exudes passion for teaching and is constantly advocating for the students. Elizabeth is a valuable resource to the NECC classroom, and we are lucky to have her.”
How long have you worked for NECC?
I have worked for NECC for almost four years in the Partner Program in New Hampshire. I worked two years at the high school level and two years at the elementary school level. I also helped cover a lead teacher position during a maternity leave for four months in the Partner Program in Chelmsford, MA.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is seeing my students learn new skills and make progress. I also just love how fun this job is and the ability to make a difference every day.
Have you taken advantage of any of the grad programs or teacher training at NECC?
I am currently finishing my final year of the Simmons University master’s program and will be graduating in May.
What is something about you that your colleagues might be surprised to learn?
A fun fact, both schools I have worked with in the Partner Program are schools I attended when I was a student!
