On May 5, David and Elizabeth Klein, a member of NECC Board of Directors. hosted the fourth annual Art Show on behalf of NECC. The Art Show returned to an in-person event after a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic.
Kevin Forrand has worked at NECC for 14 years as an instructor within the APE and Aquatics departments. A colleague nominated Forrand because “he is always willing to lend an extra hand and make sure our entire team stays active!”
This month, the NECC community will join together to celebrate Pride Month, which is held annually in June. Pride is a month-long national celebration of the diversity and unity within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Kara Flanagan, a day coordinator for Parker Road, has been with NECC for seven years. A colleague nominated Flanagan because she is “an exceptional educator. Her passion for her students is inspirational and she consistently goes above and beyond to do anything she can to help.”
Rebecca MacDonald, PhD, BCBA-D, LABA, a licensed clinical psychologist and program director and director of the Infant Sibling Research Project at NECC, was invited to present in Iceland at the Annual Meeting for Behavior Analysts (IceABA) In November 2021.
Shaye VanDyne, a level 2 teacher and senior case manager, has worked at NECC for three years. A colleague nominated her because she is “she works hard to ensure that all of our students are making as much progress as possible.”
If you ask any parent, they’d say that they would go to great lengths for their children. For Mike McKenna, that length is more than 2,500 miles. This September, McKenna will walk across the U.S. to raise money for NECC, where his son has been a student for 16 years.
When Boston25 News Anchor Heather Hegedus was pregnant with her daughter, she reached out to The New England Center for Children (NECC) to enroll her second-born child in the Infant Sibling Research Project.
Ashley Jordan has been a teacher at NECC’s Day Care Center for 15 years, first working in the infant room before moving to the toddlers, where her colleagues say she’s “a staple to the program.” A colleague nominated Jordan because she’s “wonderful with parents, loved by co-workers, and extremely reliable.”
Prior to their game on Saturday, April 30, the Worcester Red Sox will honor NECC on the field as part of its Autism Acceptance Day event. NECC will be recognized as a “Heart of Worcester” for its work helping children with autism lead fuller lives.
