Rose Spitzer, a core shift manager (CSM) and level 2 teacher for The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) residential team, has worked for NECC for four years. She was nominated by her colleagues because “she is a leader her fellow staff want to follow.”
Gretchen Resto-Maldonado joined NECC as a level 2 teacher in January 2022. She was nominated because she “comes to work with a smile on her face every day! Gretchen is an excellent case manager and advocate for all the students.”
Christine Pellerin, MSEd, BCBA, LABA, has the perfect job as the program coordinator for the RISE (Reaching Independence through Supported Employment) program in Shrewsbury. It’s a job she found thanks to her experiences learned over her 12 years working in the residential and vocational departments at NECC.
Nicole Goldberg, MS, BCBA, LABA, began her career at NECC as an undergraduate intern in 2008. Now a professional development specialist, Nicole was nominated by a colleague because “she's a consummate professional who is extremely dedicated to the mission of NECC.”
Irene Looi, MS, BCBA, LABA, a program specialist at NECC, has been able to nurture her dedication to ABA through the Western New England graduate program offered at NECC. Recently, she presented her research at the WNE Colloquium, exchanging ideas and research insights with like-minded colleagues passionate about this field.
On February 26, MRC-NECC held a ceremony honoring the 15 staff members who earned their Master of Science in Education (non-licensure program) from Simmons University, the first international cohort to complete the program through NECC.
Amanda Albanesi, MS, BCBA, began her career at The New England Center for Children (NECC) as an intern in 2019 and is now in her second year as a residential coordinator for NECC’s Westborough 2 residential team. She was nominated by her colleagues “for her dedication to our students and their success!”
The Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Special Education operated by NECC (MRC-NECC) celebrated the graduation of the first-ever Simmons UAE cohort. Alya Al-Suwaidi was presented with the Gould Award for Global Excellence in Special Education Teaching, a testament to her dedication and impact in the field of special education.
On March 6, The New England Center for Children (NECC), a global leader in autism education and research, celebrated the opening of a new clinic in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Olivia Tomyl has worked as a level 2 teacher in NECC's IIP since June 2022. She was nominated because she is “dedicated and has a great rapport with all of the students and staff. She goes above and beyond and always comes up with great ideas!”
