Christina Whelan, a native of Ireland, is the team administrative coordinator (TAC) for NECC’s West 1, Higley Road, and Parker Road residences. A colleague nominated Christina because “she works tirelessly to ensure adequate staffing for all teams and has been an amazing resource for everyone throughout the current staffing situation.”
Rossangelly Toro Carrillo, residential coordinator for Ursla Drive, has been with NECC for three years. A colleague described Rossie as “so kind and always happy … and she works tirelessly to ensure the residence is a home for our guys. She is always there to lend a hand and is a great mentor for our staff.”
Genuine, authentic, and dedicated are three adjectives that colleagues use to describe Ashley Parkin, MSEd, education coordinator for NECC’s Higley Road Team. During her 10 years at NECC, Parkin has made a lasting impression on her colleagues. Which is why she was awarded the 2021 Maria Felix Lonergan Award.
On November 14, Stacie Bancroft, PhD, BCBA-D, LABA shared NECC’s exemplary work with children with autism at the 4th Brazil-USA Autism Conference. Dr. Bancroft’s lecture, “A model for helping children with severe autism through education and residential treatment,” presented an overview of behavior analytic residential treatment models for severe autism.
