While the return of football is significant for so many around New England, this year, it holds special meaning for The New England Center for Children (NECC). Through a partnership with Apex Entertainment, as part of their “Apex Cares” program, every time the New England Patriots convert a field goal during the 2020 NFL Season, Apex will donate $100 to NECC. The partnership will be advertised during Patriots radio broadcasts on 98.5 The Sports Hub and during 98.5’s afternoon drive time show, Felger & Mazz.
Apex Entertainment, the largest family Entertainment Center in New England, is located in Marlborough, MA. Since opening in 2017, their “Apex Cares” program has worked with local charities to raise over $100,000. This is the first time that “Apex Cares” has partnered with NECC. In addition to this initiative, Apex has been a valuable member of the NECC community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have helped show appreciation for teachers by providing NECC families with low-cost meal options to donate to residential facilities.
“Apex has proven to be an autism champion,” says NECC Chief Development Officer, Jared Bouzan. “Their commitment to our mission, from working to provide sensory-friendly hours at their facility to the ‘Apex Cares’ initiative, has been incredible. We are excited for what’s ahead.”
The funds raised through NECC’s partnership with Apex will go towards a myriad of different programs at the Center. From purchasing new gym equipment, to acquiring PPE that allows NECC to continue in-person classes, every dollar raised truly makes an impact on students and staff. This year more than ever, NECC will root on the Patriots as they help advance NECC’s mission of transforming the lives of children with autism.
