On January 21, Kristin Buchanan, MSEd, BCBA, executive director of Gulf Consulting for NECC, participated in the 6th Incluzun Summit in Abu Dhabi. The Summit, which featured 13 experts in the field and attracted 150 attendees, focused on early-year practice for outstanding inclusion of individuals of determination.
The Incluzun Summit’s mission is to accelerate the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 that promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. Buchanan was highlighted as an expert panelist, where she was active in discussing how NECC’s global consulting initiatives contribute to Goal 8.
“NECC is a global leader in autism education and research, and this event was an incredible opportunity to share what we are doing across our consulting programs and clinics in the UAE to empower individuals of determination,” shared Buchanan. “It was a privilege to share the evidence-based tools and practices we use to improve the lives of our clients, which are steeped in NECC’s 50 years of service.”
Buchanan was one of several industry and educational leaders who shared their expertise on a range of topics, including how to meet the growing demands for inclusive education models, best practices to promote inclusion, and the role of assistive technology and digital tools in supporting accessibility and inclusivity in schools.
It was also a chance to network with other professionals in the field. “It was a great occasion to meet other industry leaders in person for the first time, as well as reconnect with others with whom we work closely,” added Buchanan.
