Hannah Connolly, a tutor in one of The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Partner Program classrooms in Derry, NH, has worked in NECC’s Public School Services (PSS) program for three years. She was nominated for Staff Spotlight by a colleague because she “works so well with all the students. Hannah has been able to work with such a wide variety of ages and abilities. She has incredible insight and knowledge in this field, and I have been able to learn so much from her. She is a wonderful role model and mentor. Hannah has so many amazing qualities; she is patient, kind, reliable, and so positive, to name a few!”
What is it like working as a tutor in the PSS program?
I love how every day is different than the one before. Hard day? No problem! There’s always tomorrow to try again.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part is seeing the progress our kids make throughout the year!
Why did you choose a career in helping children with autism?
After college, I tried out a few different jobs and ultimately fell in love with working in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Why NECC?
I liked that NECC had positions available in a school setting. I love including our kids in fun things and when they have the same opportunities as their peers!
What is something about you that your colleagues might be surprised to learn?
I used to ride horses for 13 years! Life has happened since, but I plan to pick it back up someday.
Who is someone you look up to?
I look up to my mom!
What is your life philosophy or motto you like to live by?
There is nothing a little coffee can’t fix!
