An article written by Fatou Njie-Jallow, MHA, director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at The New England Center for Children (NECC), was published in the Winter 2023 issue of Autism Spectrum News. The article, entitled “Building a Better Future: A Blueprint for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Autism Service Providers,” presents a blueprint for DEI action and policy for autism service providers.
According to Njie-Jallow, research has proven that DEI can improve employee engagement, improving outcomes for clients and families. Increased DEI practices can also positively impact staff recruiting and retention during this particularly challenging time.
