Tuition Reimbursement Program

As you continue to grow and develop professionally, many opportunities become available for you at The New England Center for Children. To help foster this growth, NECC has a very liberal tuition compensation program that is designed to encourage continual learning and to reward job performance and longevity. In many cases, it’s possible to earn an advanced degree at virtually no cost.

General Tuition Reimbursement
All regular employees, who work at least 32 hours per week, are able to access tuition reimbursement to pursue either an undergraduate or graduate course of study. Fields related to working with children, adolescents, or young adults with developmental disabilities may be eligible for reimbursement subject to prior approval. These fields include programs in education, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, speech and language therapy, education administration, occupational therapy, physical therapy and nursing. This benefit is just one component of a larger model of professional development driven by its mission: ”To create a work environment in which all staff members are valued and respected and able to achieve their professional potential.”

On-Site Master's Degree Programs

  • Simmons College and The New England Center for Children collaborate to offer a Master of Science Degree and Licensure in Severe Special Needs. Each employee pays only $200 per course. NECC pays the rest of your course cost. All courses are taught on-site.
  • Northeastern University offers a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis at NECC as well as a Post-Master's Degree Training Program in Applied Behavior Analysis. NECC pays a large portion of the cost of tuition for both. Employees are responsible for paying the first $200 of each course. The remainder of the course cost is reimbursed on a gradual benefit schedule based on years of employment and the number of semesters required for that year. To illustrate, a third year employee can receive up to $4,200 per year toward the cost of tuition. In addition all courses are taught on-site at NECC.

In addition, employees who complete the on-site Master's Programs and continue to be employed by NECC will be reimbursed for the tuition costs they incurred while they were both employed by NECC and completing the program. Complete details are available in the NECC Human Resources Department.

  • Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology at Worcester State College. NECC pays a large portion of the tuition. All employees are responsible for paying the first $200 of each course. The remainder of the course cost is reimbursed on a gradual benefit schedule based on years of employment. Employees must use the general tuition reimbursement procedures. To illustrate, a third year employee can receive up to $3,300 per year toward the cost of tuition.

Doctor of Philosophy in Behavior Analysis, Western New England College

  • Western New England College partners with The New England Center for Children to offer a Doctor of Philosophy in Behavior Analysis.  Employees are responsible for paying tuition directly to WNEC and NECC will reimburse the employee's tuition on a schedule based on years of employment.  For example, an employee with one to five years of service pays $325 per credit hour.  Such an employee can receive close to $10,000 of tuition support from NECC in their first year of the graduate program.
