Profiles of NECC Students Living with Autism - Stories of Progress and Accomplishment

The New England Center For Children provides services for children with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD) and related disabilities, ranging in age from 14 months to 22 years.

Children at NECC have a broad range of functioning levels and varying degrees of disability. Respect for the dignity and individuality of children with autism and related disorders is central to NECC’s values. We also take into account an individual student’s unique skills and learning style before we develop a realistic plan to foster each child’s achievement, self-esteem and personal independence.

Just as each child’s circumstances and goals are unique, so too are the personal profiles of children with autism. Stories and profiles are offered below as sample descriptions of students who may be found in each of our programs. Through these profiles we hope to offer a glimpse of our programs and services and how that can be tailored to fit the student’s individual needs. Please click on each of the Program Profiles below.
